This is my fourth year at the University of Sheffield. I graduated in 2002, with a degree in Mathematics and Philosophy. I am currently working as a research student in the Department of Probability and Statistics supervised by Dr. Nick Fieller.
I am working with Astra Zeneca, analysing expression levels of microarray data. I am currently in the first year of my research, and therefore the exact direction of my research is not yet apparent. I aim to use multivariate analysis, and Baysian methods as part of my work in the future.
My research thus far has led me into an area of science that I have not previously studied. I am currently reading many books and articles on genetics, genomics and the genome project.
I am an organiser of the 27th Annual Conference for Research Students in Probability and Statistics, which will be hosted by this department in April 2004 the homepage of which can be viewed by clicking here.
